Nothing’s Carl Pei is poking fun at the Galaxy S23 series on social media

TL;DR

  • Nothing’s CEO Carl Pei has taken to Twitter to poke fun at the new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra on Twitter.
  • He’s also running a poll on the platform asking followers if they think the Galaxy S23 series is boring.

While the Samsung Galaxy S23 series features several upgrades, it also brings over a lot of the same hardware from the Galaxy S22 series. The fact has probably given former OnePlus co-founder and current Nothing CEO Carl Pei fodder for his latest dig at the new Samsung flagships.

Pei has posted a poll on Twitter asking his users what they think of the Galaxy S23 phones. “Exciting” and “Boring” are the two options you can choose from, and at the time of writing this post, the latter has over 54% of the 13,428 votes.

Pei also followed up the poll with the popular same-shirt guy meme, calling out the Galaxy S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra for being indistinguishable.

He’s not wrong, really. Check out the phones next to each other in the image below.

Aesthetics aside, the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy S22 Ultra have quite a few differences. The former has a more powerful chip, newer cameras, and improved durability. But if that’s enough for an upgrade is something we’ll address in our upcoming review of the phone.

Meanwhile, Nothing is prepping a “more premium” Android phone of its own for the US market. Pei recently broke the news about the Nothing Phone 2 in an interview. Perhaps the executive has already fired up the hype train for the upcoming phone, in which case, we can expect more digs at other brands and their flagships in the coming months.
