Now you can use any emoji as WhatsApp Reactions, confirms company – Times of India

Earlier this month, it was reported that WhatsApp has started testing a new feature for the Message Reactions tool. The feature will enable both iOS and Android users to use all available emojis to react to WhatsApp messages.
The Meta-owned instant messaging app is now finally getting the update which will enable the WhatsApp users to use any emoji as Reactions. Initially, the company allowed only 6 reactions such as love, laugh, surprise, sad and thanks. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of WhatsApp’s parent company Meta has announced the global roll out WhatsApp Reactions feature.

For those unaware, WhatsApp started testing the Message Reactions feature four years back. The popular messaging app then released the feature for some users in May this year. Zuckerberg took to Instagram to make this announcement. The Instagram post reads, “We’re rolling out the ability to use any emoji as a reaction on WhatsApp. Some of my favrouites include…”. In the post, Zuckerberg also shared some of his favourite emojis for Reactions such as robot face, french fries, man surfing, sunglasses smiley, the 100 percent symbol, and the fist bump.
How will WhatsApp’s all-emoji Message Reactions feature work
Presently, WhatsApp users have to press and hold a message to get the default emoji reactions menu. However, the all-emoji feature will add a new plus (+) icon to that list. On clicking the new icon, users will get access to the entire emoji library where they can use any one of them to react to a message. Moreover, users will also be able to choose skin tone variations available for some specific emojis.
