Asbe has pitched the autopay feature of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) as a simple way to handle monthly payments for Twitter’s paid subscription service, Twitter Blue. Replying to a tweet by Musk, Asbe said that UPI’s recurring payments offering already has seven million users.
“No worries, India has UPI AutoPay (7 Mn new approved collection mandates/month) to collect every anytime/month/quarter or yearly as you wish dear @Twitter,” wrote Asbe. His reply was to Musk’s tweet that said, “To all complainers, please continue complaining, but it will cost $8.”
