Ola launched its electric scooters, Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro, back in August. The unicorn company had then started sales for the electric twins in September and secured sales worth Rs 1,100 crore in the two-day sale window. Huge demand still keeps hot and Ola has rescheduled the previously promised sale date of November 1st to December 16th. Ola has, however, as promised, started the test rides for the Ola Electric S1 and S1 Pro scooters. The test rides for the electric twins have begun from today, November 10th, as promised earlier however the strategy to execute this experience has certain specific technicalities. Let’s discuss.

Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro test rides begin 

Ola Electric has begun test rides for the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters for customers who have pre-booked the electric two-wheeler before. These test rides are being organised via Ola Test Ride Camps across selected cities. These selected cities however don’t include the entire list of cities where bookings have been taken. Ola has mentioned that other cities with Ola Test Ride Camps will be enrolled in the coming weeks. For now, Ola Test Ride Camps are available in four cities – Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru. Test rides are also only being allotted to people who have made advanced payments for the e-scooters. 

Test rides are being held at Forum (WeWork) in Cyber City for Delhi, at South City Mall for Kolkata, Himalaya Mall at Ahemadabad and Prestige Cube Laskar for Bangaluru. Customers who meet Ola’s sorting criteria for test ride allotment must carry their Order ID, a valid driving licence and a helmet. Customers have also been recommended to reach venues prior to their scheduled slots.

Ola Electric has rescheduled sale dates to December 16th after being subjected to some dissatisfaction from customers for delayed deliveries. Ola Electric has now begun taking final payments for their S1 and S1 Pro scooters. Ola Electric’s Ola S1 scooter is priced at Rs 1.00 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom) for Ola S1 Pro scooter.
