Ola MoveOS 3.0 new features
Here’s a quick look at what’s new in the MoveOS 3.0 software that will run the MID systems on all Ola Electric scooters here on:
Hypercharging
Ola Electric has enabled a faster rate of charging on its Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro premium electric scooters that allows them to juice up the battery for 50km in just 15 minutes.
Advanced Regenerative Braking
This new advanced regen feature will bring 3 levels of regenerative braking that are design to suit different riding styles. There will be a Low setting for highway cruising, a Default setting for daily commuting and High setting for heavy traffic conditions.
Vacation Mode
The Vacation Mode in MoveOS 3.0 allows users to leave their e-scooters unused for up to 200 days without having to worry about the battery deep discharge.
Hill Hold
The MoveOS 3.0 brings hill hold control to the Ola S1 twins which aids the scooter on a steep slope. The feature prevents the scooter from rolling when parked on an incline.
Party Mode
Ola’s new Party Mode lets users enjoy music as well as lighting that changes with the beats of the song.
Profile
MoveOS 3.0 will allow riders to construct their own profiles and will allow different riders to save their personalised preferences on the same e-scooter.
Proximity Lock / Unlock
This new feature brings keyless go functionality to the e-scooter. The e-scooters will automatically detect the user approaching or moving away from the vehicle and will accordingly unlock or lock the EV.
Moods
The MoveOS 3.0 also brings Moods feature to the Ola S1 e-scooters which enables the users to select a specific mood that customises the riding experience and the themes on the 7-inch dash. There are three Moods to choose from – Bolt, Vintage and Eclipse.
Documents
The MoveOS 3.0 update will also let users store important documents such as Driving License, Aadhar Card, PUC documents, etc. These can directly be accessed from the digital dash.
The software roll out is likely to take place in a phased manner much like on smartphones. Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has also spoken about the company’s plans to launch an electric bike in India in 2023. Ola Electric’s CEO is also confident about launching its first electric car in 2024.
