The Galaxy Tab A8 launched with a starting price of only $229. It comes with a large 10.5-inch screen with a wide aspect ratio which is great for media consumption and a hefty 7,040mAh battery means that it lasts days on a single charge.
Despite being a budget slate, it has got a nice design with a matte back panel that doesn’t retain fingerprints and a physically robust frame.
The tablet is powered by the lesser-known Unisoc Tiger T618 which ensures reliable performance, though it’s understandably not made for very demanding tasks. You should have no problem consuming media, switching between apps, or launching multiple apps simultaneously.
Its cameras are reasonable by tablet standards and the 5MP front camera is actually better than laptop webcams.
Unlike the iPads of the world, not only does the Galaxy Tab A8 have a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired headphones but also a dedicated MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.
Other highlights include loud and clear Dolby Atmos speakers and long-term security support.
That’s a great deal for a budget champ from the undisputed king of Android slates.
