One UI 4 beta available for Note 20/S20 phones in US

Eric Zeman / Android Authority

TL;DR

  • Folks in the US who own a Galaxy S20 or Galaxy Note 20 phone can now give One UI 4 beta a shot.
  • This is the first beta for these phones in the US and is based on Android 12.
  • If you’re not comfortable with betas, you’ll need to wait until January/February 2022 for the stable launch.

Thankfully, Samsung is rolling out One UI 4 beta to those phones in the United States right now (via SamMobile). If you’re confident enough to test out unfinished software, you can apply to download the beta through the Samsung Members app. Just open the app on your phone and find the banner advertising the beta program. You might need to close and open the app a few times to see it.

Keep in mind that there are usually limited numbers of beta sign-ups. As such, if you really want this, we recommend getting on it as soon as you’re able.

One UI 4 brings all the Android 12 updates built into the stock operating system. It also brings new Samsung-exclusive features as well as updates to existing Samsung features. You can see what to expect in our hands-on with the beta.

If you’re uncomfortable using beta software (which is totally understandable), Samsung has already committed to a timeline for the stable launch. Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 owners can expect to see the stable One UI 4 launch happen throughout January and February 2022. That’s a little bit of a wait, but it might be worth it if you don’t want to deal with bugs and missing features.
