One UI 4 Beta: Samsung confirms One UI 4 beta is coming to Galaxy S21 smartphones this month – Times of India
NEW DELHI: Samsung started working on Android 12 for the Galaxy S21 series of smartphones in June this year. In July the company also announced the One UI 4 beta program is almost ready and it will soon be made available for public testing. Now, Samsung has confirmed that the beta testing will start this month.
A community manager in the Samsung forums has posted that the consumer electronics giant will start the beta testing in September. The company has not yet revealed a specific date for the roll out. Samsung will be first rolling out the beta testing in South Korea followed by other regions. The users who wish to join the beta program will have to tap on the ‘Join One UI Beta Program’ banner in the Samsung Members app.
This new One UI 4 is based on the upcoming Android 12 operating system. Samsung Galaxy S21 series smartphones will be the first devices of the company to receive Android 12 update. The company has also promised three years of updates to smartphones recently. It is also expected that Samsung will roll out the Android 12 update for other flagship devices by January 2022.
Android 12 operating system will completely change the look of the Android phone with the new Material You UI design. The interface comes with new colour options, animations, tile designs and more. There’s a new Privacy Dashboard that offers a single view into your permissions settings as well as what data is being accessed, how often and by which apps. It also lets you easily revoke app permissions right from the dashboard.
Android 12 comes with a dedicated ‘One-handed’ mode that lets you use large phones easily with one hand. You will also be able to invoke the Google Assistant by long-pressing the power button.
