OnePlus has launched its first flagship of 2022 — OnePlus 9RT. The all-new OnePlus 9RT comes to India almost three months after its China launch. Claimed to be an upgrade of OnePlus 9R that the company launched in early 2021, OnePlus 9RT boasts of several noteworthy enhancements. Priced at Rs 42,999 it competes with Samsung’s latest Fan Edition phone, Galaxy S21FE 5G (Rs 49,999), and Xiaomi’s upcoming ‘Hypherphone’ Xiaomi Mi 11T Pro. OnePlus 9RT is the cheapest smartphone running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 phone, one of the most powerful Android processor
OnePlus 9RT 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and features up to 12GB of LPDDR5 memory, 256GB of UFS3.1 high-speed flash memory. This is the same processor that powers the company’s OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9Pro smartphones as well as some other premium Android phones of 2021.
Cheapest phone in OnePlus 9 series with notable upgrades over OnePlus 9R
OnePlus 9RT is certainly a notable upgrade over OnePlus 9R, boasting of enhamcements in terms of camera and display. OnePlus 9RT has upgraded primary sensor in its triple camera setup when compared with the OnePlus 9R. It is the 50-megapixel sensor that is there as the secondary camera on the OnePlus 9 Pro.

OnePlus 9RT is priced at Rs 42,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option is priced at Rs 46,999. Unlike China, there’s no 8GB RAM/256GB storage option available in India.

OnePlus 9RT has slightly larger screen than OnePlus 9R, boasts of Samsung E4 AMOLED display
OnePlus 9RT sports a 6.62-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) with Samsung E4 AMOLED display. This is the first time that OnePlus has revealed that it is using Samsung display. It offers a refresh rate of 120Hz abd supports HDR10+. OnePlus claims that the display has a touch sampling rate of 1,300Hz and comes with 100 percent DCI:P3 colour gamut coverage.
OnePlus 9RT features 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary camera sensor
OnePlus 9RT sports triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary camera and f/1.8 lens. The primary camera comes with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and can record video at 4K at 60fps. There’s an ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 lens and 123-degree field-of-view and a 2-megapixel camera for macro photography. For those unaware, OnePlus 9RT is equipped with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 selfie camera.
OnePlus RT comes with new VC cooling system, claimed to be a first in OnePlus phones
OnePlus claims that OnePlus 9RT 5G features an extensive advanced heat dissipation mechanism to keep the overall system cool. The three-level heat dissipation mechanism consists of: One, heat dissipation structure to reduce heat stacking as much as possible, the internal structure and heat dissipation routes have been redesigned to be evenly distributed on the backplane and the frame for faster cooling. Two, OnePlus 9RT 5G uses five different heat dissipation materials to cool every heat-generating entity inside it using a thermal mitigation design. Three, OnePlus 9RT 5G features a thermal dissipation area of 19067.44mm2. The vapor chamber is 59% larger than the one used in the OnePlus 9 Pro, equivalent to the size of a tablet.
Battery and charging: OnePlus 9RT can charge 100% in 29 minutes, claims company
OnePlus 9RT is packed with 4,500mAh battery and Warp Charge 65T, same as OnePlus 9R. The company claims that it will take 15 minutes to charge OnePlus RT from 1% to 65%, and 100% in just 29 minutes. OnePlus 9RT 5G supports up to 33W PPS charging protocol, meaning, users will can now enjoy fast charging experience even when using select third-party charging cables.
Adds new colours to OnePlus 9 range
OnePlus 9RT adds two new colours to the OnePlus 9 series, Nano Silver and Hacker Black colours.
