OnePlus Nord 2 5G reportedly explodes again, OnePlus responds – Times of India

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G has exploded again, allegedly. The latest smartphone from the BBK-owned smartphone brand has yet again come into the limelight as another user has alleged that the OnePlus Nord 2 5G smartphone exploded. A Twitter user, by the name of @shubham754 had posted online complaining about the issue. As per the information provided in his tweets — now deleted — the Nord 2 5G belonged to his father who was in “trauma” due to the incident. The user did not upload any pictures of the destroyed handset so there is no idea of the extent of the damage.

The company, from its official support handle, replied to his tweet saying, “We are truly dejected to hear about this incident. We earnestly hope that the untoward incident did not cause any harm to your father. We would like to have this addressed on priority and to further scrutinise this matter and ascertain the cause of this instance, please DM us.”
More details on the matter are awaited.
Once bitten, twice shy?
As mentioned, this is the second incident about the OnePlus Nord 2 5G that has come to light. About 10 days ago, Ankur Sharma, a resident of Bengaluru claimed that his wife’s five-day-old OnePlus Nord 2 5G exploded inside her sling bag while she was out cycling early in the morning.
Sharma also shared the pictures of the burnt OnePlus Nord 2, which seemed to have been charred completely. He claimed that the explosion resulted in an accident and that his wife is in trauma.
After evaluating Sharma’s issue the company had termed it an “isolated incident involving external factors”.
The complete statement from OnePlus on that matter reads:
“Our top priority is the health and safety of our customers. We reached out to the concerned user immediately after hearing about this incident and initiated a thorough internal investigation. The results indicate that the damage to this device was caused by an isolated incident involving external factors and not due to any manufacturing or product issue. However, we remain in close touch with this user and have offered our support to address their concerns and ensure their wellbeing.
We would like to assure our customers that our products undergo thorough quality and safety tests, including various levels of pressure and impact tests, to ensure they are up to industry-leading standards and remain safe to use.”
