OnePlus Nord 3 reportedly coming to India soon with 150W fast charging support

According to a report by PriceBaba in association with tipster Mukul Sharma, the OnePlus phone with 150W charging support, likely called Nord 3, will launch in India by the end of May or early June. Which falls in line with what OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said. “We will debut first on a OnePlus smartphone in the second quarter of 2022,” said the top executive in a forum post outlining the improvements coming to OxygenOS.

The 150W charging solution (which could be the same as OPPO’s 150W SuperVOOC tech) is claimed to fully charge a 4,500mAh battery in just 15 minutes. This is less than half the time the 65W charging takes (38 minutes). The 150W is capable of charging up to 50 percent in only five minutes.

The PriceBaba report further says the company will launch only one mid-range phone with 150W charging support initially, but there are plans to introduce multiple phones with 150W technology later in the year. The solution will have two charge pumps to supply the energy and the brand seems to be retaining the dual-cell design. The adapter could be delivering a 20V/7.5A charge that’s divided in half to charge the two cells at the same time.

OnePlus Nord 3 specifications (rumoured)

The OnePlus phone is said to come with a 6.47-inch Full-HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and probably a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper. It could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor with four Cortex-A78 cores. The chipset will support LDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The Alleged OnePlus Nord 3 may have a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera and will draw power from a 4,500mAh battery. It will have a 150W fast charging support and is likely to boot Android 12 OS.
