Oneplus: OnePlus is ending its ‘Pro’ lineup, here’s why – Times of India

At the Cloud11 event, OnePlus unveiled two new smartphones – the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11R. While the OnePlus 11 is coming globally, the OnePlus 11R remains exclusive to India. But, if you were waiting for a much premium ‘Pro’ version or even a bi-annual refresh, the ‘T’ series, you should not wait, as they are not coming.
OnePlus confirmed to Android Authority that the company does not plan to bring the OnePlus 11 Pro this year or ‘Pro’ models at all.
To streamline its “flagship portfolio,” the company is removing the ‘Pro’ lineup, 2023 and onwards, OnePlus said to Android Authority. So, there will not be a OnePlus 11 Pro or any new Pro models coming any time. OnePlus says that the OnePlus 11 is already a ‘pro’ and does not need the ‘Pro’ branding.
No OnePlus 11T coming later this year
The report further adds that the mid-cycle refresh, the ‘T’ series of flagships that OnePlus brought every year, starting with the OnePlus 3, is also being shelved for a streamlined portfolio. So, the OnePlus 10T remains the last of the ‘T’ series.
With the OnePlus 7 series, the company started offering two variants – a vanilla and a Pro. However, last year, OnePlus only introduced OnePlus 10 Pro, skipping out on the vanilla OnePlus 11. In the second half of 2022, the OnePlus 10T was launched, which skipped out on the Hasselblad cameras but had a better processor.
So, for now, OnePlus seems to have only two new smartphones in its portfolio – the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11R. However, OnePlus has teased new foldable, which might debut in Q3 2022.
OnePlus 11 is being launched in India, North America, Europe and Middle Eastern markets. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 11R is being exclusive to India, although it is also available in China as the Ace 2.
