OnePlus to host mystery event on December 17: Here’s what the company may announce

OnePlus is gearing up to announce something important. The Chinese smartphone maker has scheduled an event for December 17 in China. The company is celebrating its 9th anniversary with the event.
The event comes with a tagline ‘New direction, new action, new future’. Some rumours suggest that the Chinese smartphone maker may announce the launch date of its upcoming flagship smartphone series — OnePlus 11 at the event. It is also expected that the company may launch the smartphone series in the first quarter of 2023. The OnePlus 11 series is said to consist of two smartphones — OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11 Pro.
OnePlus 11 likely specifications
OnePlus 11 is said to sport a triple rear camera setup and a curved display. The smartphone is likely to house a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution. The display on the OnePlus 11 is said to offer 120Hz refresh rate.
The 5G smartphone is tipped to pack 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. OnePlus 11 is likely to feature a 50MP main sensor, 48MP ultra-wide angle lens and 32MP telephoto lens. The front is expected to sport a 32MP selfie shooter.
OnePlus 11 is likely to be backed by a 5000mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.
The smartphone is said to run Android 13 operating system topped with the company’s own layer of OxygenOS 13.
OnePlus 11 expected design
The latest leaked render of the OnePlus 11 shows the smartphone in two colour options — Black and Mint Green. As per the report, these two colour variants are likely to be named Matte Black and Glossy Green.
It also shows that the Glossy Green variant has a dual-tone back panel design which is even slightly noticeable on the Matte Black option. The dual-tone effect is visible as the camera island has a Black colour and is made up of a glossier material compared to the rest of the back panel.
