OnePlus’ upcoming foldable might not be a copy of Oppo Find N2 – Times of India
OnePlus recently teased the arrival of its first-ever foldable smartphone, said to be dubbed V Fold. There could also be a clamshell-style flip phone, the V Flip. While not much is known about the latter, some new details about the former have surfaced on the internet, tipping what could be OnePlus’ first foldable could be like.
For a long time, rumours were rife that OnePlus’ foldable could be a rebadged Find N2 from Oppo, the parent company of OnePlus. But, now rumours have it that the two could be a little different, and the OnePlus V Fold might not just be a Find N2 with the OnePlus logo slapped on the back.
OnePlus V Fold and Oppo Find N2 could be two different foldables
As per tipster Digital Chat Station, OnePlus V Fold could have fewer similarities to the Oppo Find N2 than we earlier thought of.
The tipster says that the OnePlus V Fold will be a “large screen” foldable with a resolution of 2K, which does not seem to match up with the resolution of Find N2. The Oppo Find N2 offers a 1,792×1,920 pixels resolution, which is not anywhere close to 2K but just a little higher than FHD+. The higher resolution of the OnePlus V Fold suggests that the foldable could be larger than that of Oppo’s, and the two could have different aspect ratios also.
However, the tipster does not divulge further into the upcoming foldable smartphone of OnePlus. So, chances are that the two – OnePlus V Fold and Oppo Find N2 – could share the same chassis with some internal changes, like the display and even the chipset.
OnePlus’ foldable is expected to be unveiled in the third quarter of 2023, which is almost around when Samsung brings its crop of Galaxy Z Fold and Flip foldables every year.
