OnePlus V Fold and OnePlus V Flip could be the next Samsung rivals

TL;DR

  • OnePlus has trademarked names for two phones — the OnePlus V Fold and On ePlus V Flip.
  • The company is expected to launch its first foldable phones this year.
  • OnePlus is reportedly testing at least one of these phones in several European regions right now.

OnePlus seems to be borrowing names for its upcoming foldable phones directly from its competitor Samsung. According to tipster Mukul Sharma, the company has trademarked the names “OnePlus V Fold” and “OnePlus V Flip.” One cannot help but relate the Fold and Flip monikers to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip, which OnePlus looks set to take on.

Sharma also revealed that at least one of these foldable OnePlus phones is currently under internal testing in several European regions.

According to previously leaked details, OnePlus might launch its first foldable phones sometime this year. In fact, tipster Max Jambor claimed last year that the company could launch “multiple” foldable models. So the fact that OnePlus has trademarked both the V Fold and V Flip names makes a lot of sense.

We know that the Oppo-owned brand is launching the OnePlus 11 on February 7, with no signs of a Pro model. We’ve also heard that there might not be a OnePlus 11 Pro this year. Perhaps OnePlus will replace its Pro-branded phones with new foldable ones in the future.

Oppo already has both foldable phone form factors locked in with the latest Find N2 and Find N2 Flip. If OnePlus is to launch the V Fold and V Flip, we expect the devices to borrow heavily from the Find N2 series.
