OPPO Find N foldable phone launched with 7.1-inch creaseless display, Snapdragon 888 SoC: price, specifications | 91mobiles.com

OPPO Find N price, availability

The OPPO Find N will be up for grab in China starting December 23. The pricing of Find N is in line with other flagship foldables currently available in the market; one can buy the 256GB/8GB storage configuration for RMB 7,699 (Rs 92,290), while the 512GB/12GB option will be retailing for RMB 8,999 (Rs 1,07,873). The Find N will be available in three colour options – Black, White, and Purple. OPPO hasn’t confirmed if the Find N would be launching outside China.

OPPO Find N specifications, features

One of OPPO Find N’s highlights is its not-so-typical aspect ratio. The 5.49-inch outer display comes with an aspect ratio of 18:9, while the inner one has an aspect ratio of 8:4:9. The OPPO Find N measures 7.1-inch when unfolded, putting it in the middle of flip phones and foldables. OPPO says that the Find N can be used with just one hand, and when folded, it offers a full-fledged smartphone experience with no compromises.

The 7.1-inch inner display is a custom 12-layer Serene display using a 0.3mm Flexion Ultra Thin glass, making it more flexible than the competition. As verified by TUV, the display can withstand over 200,000 folds while still having “next to no crease”.

The inner display uses an LTPO panel offering a variable refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz, depending on the content you are viewing, while the touch sampling rate can go as high as 1000Hz. OPPO says that the 7.1-inch inner display offers 60% more visual area than a standard 6.5-inch display. Both inner and outer displays have a peak brightness of 1000 nits graduated in 10,240 brightness steps.

The 5.49-inch outer display is an AMOLED panel with Gorilla Glass Victus on top of it. The display offers a resolution of 1,972 x 988 px with a pixel density of 402ppi and a standard refresh rate of 60Hz.

OPPO Find N

The hinge on Find N, or as OPPO prefers to call it; the Flexion Hinge consists of 136 pieces of components with precision up to 0.01 mm. According to OPPO, the hinge works as smoothly as the human joints. OPPO’s Flexion Hinge also eradicates some of the common issues of current generation foldable hinges. First, it minimises the crease by up to 80% by folding the display in a teardrop shape. Second, it eliminates the gap between two halves when folded, preventing the inner display from scratches. The hinge lets Find N stay unfolded at any angle between 50-degree to 120-degree.

Under the hood, the OPPO Find N rocks the Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.2 internal storage. The Find N boasts a 4,500mAh battery, supporting 35W SuperVOOC and 15W AirVOOC charging. It also offers reverse charging at 10W.

The foldable comes preloaded with Android 11 based ColorOS 12 with some tweaks to use the large real estate of the Find N. The Find N gets some new gestures in addition to Android’s usual multitasking gestures. You can swipe down using two fingers to split up the screen, or you can turn a full-screen window into a floating window by a four-finger pinch gesture. You can also save the commonly used multi-app combinations on the home screen. Further, it offers a seamless transition between the outer and inner displays when unfolded or vice-versa.

OPPO Find N

The OPPO Find N comes with a total of five cameras – a set of three rear cameras and two selfie cameras, one on each display. The triple rear camera setup includes a 50 MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide sensor and a 13MP telephoto sensor. We don’t know the exact megapixel counts of the selfie camera, but there are two of them, meaning you can click a selfie no matter if it’s folded or unfolded. The rear camera can also be used to click selfies using hand gestures, with the preview being shown on the outer display.
