Oppo may add a new variant to the Find X5 series, says report – Times of India
Oppo might expand its Find X5 series with a new device which is expected to be a special edition version of the lineup. According to a report by GizmoChina, the Chinese smartphone maker is likely to unveil a “new variant” of the Oppo Find X5 series in the second half of 2022.
This is not the first time the company is adding a special edition version to its Find X series. In the first half of 2021, Oppo announced the Find X3 series in China which included two smartphones — Oppo Find X3 and Find X3 Pro. Later on, the company revealed the Find X3 Pro Photographer Edition in the second half of the same year.
Moreover, the report also mentions that Oppo is working on its first clamshell-designed smartphone that will come with a foldable screen. The upcoming foldable is expected to be the successor of the Oppo Find N foldable device.
Apart from these devices, the company is also rumoured to announce a global variant of the Oppo Reno 8 Pro smartphone. Oppo has recently unveiled the Oppo Reno 8 series in China which includes three devices. The Chinese variant of the Oppo Reno 8 Pro handset comes powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. However, the global variant might be named Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G, which is expected to feature the Dimensity 8100-Max mobile platform and is likely to release in India and other markets.

The report hasn’t provided many details about the upcoming smartphone which is expected to come powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The new variant of the Oppo FInd X5 series might also come equipped with the company’s proprietary MariSilicon X NPU. More details about the handset are soon expected to be revealed by the company.
