Oppo has announced it will host Inno Day 2021, its annual tech event on December 14. Days ahead of the event, the company has teased a unique retractable smartphone camera technology via its Twitter handle. Pop-up cameras technology has been there for years. The smartphone teased by Oppo shows a pop-up camera for the rear module.
Oppo has shared a small clip of the unnamed phone with the retractable rear camera module. As shown in the video, the module will be water-resistant and is also claimed to be durable.
The Chinese smartphone company has not shared many details about the camera or the device’s name that may come with this technology. However, there is an inscription on the prototype which specifies that the camera has a 1/1.56-inch sensor, an f/2.4 aperture and a 50 mm-equivalent focal length.
The smartphone maker will showcase the technology at the Inno World virtual event. The event will be organised for two days in China on December 14. It will begin at 2.30 am IST. At the event, Oppo is expected to showcase products and innovations, although exact details about what Oppo is unveiling are officially unknown.
It is rumoured that Oppo may bring a foldable smartphone at the event.
