OPPO to unveil Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered flagship in Q1 2022; Find X4 expected | 91mobiles.com


After months of waiting, Qualcomm announced its next-generation mobile chipset dubbed Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 at the Snapdragon Tech Summit. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is built on the 4nm process node and comes with the latest Snapdragon X65 5G modem. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 brings the fastest ever AI Engine and the world’s first 10 Gigabit 5G modem-RF solution onboard. Many brands, including Xiaomi, Motorola, and Realme, have already announced their plans for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered smartphones. Now, OPPO has announced that it will be bringing one of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered smartphones early next year.

It is widely expected that the Find X4 series will be the first OPPO phones to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

OPPO announced that the company will be launching its first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered flagship smartphone in the first quarter of 2022. “OPPO maintains close ties with Qualcomm Technologies, and we have brought several 5G smartphones powered by flagship Snapdragon mobile platforms to the market this year, including the Find X3 series and Reno6 series. It is our pleasure to witness the launch of a new generation of Snapdragon 8 Mobile Platform. Aside from announcing its upcoming release, OPPO also announced that the Chinese manufacturer would be working along with Qualcomm to continue developing 5G technologies. Both the companies will be working towards the commercialisation of 5G networks across the world.

In related news, Xiaomi announced that the upcoming Xiaomi 12 would be the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered smartphone. Further, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered Motorola X30 is set to debut on December 9th, meaning Xiaomi could unveil Xiaomi 12 in a couple of days. Moreover, Realme has also confirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset will power the GT 2 Pro.
