page break: Google Docs on Android and iOS has got this new feature – Times of India
Google has rolled out the page break functionality for paragraphs on Docs mobile app for both Android and iOS. The tech giant had introduced the feature to the web version last year in October and now it has been rolled out for the mobile.
“You can mark a paragraph to always begin on a new page with the new “Add page break before” option in Google Docs. This is particularly useful if you want certain paragraph styles to always create a new page such as titles, subtitles, or headings.”, said Google in a blog post. This should take care of the extra effort that could go into re editing texts heavy with headings and subheadings.
As per Google, you can also import and export Microsoft Word and other third party documents that come with the “Page break before” setting applied to paragraphs to Docs and the app will retain the formatting.
To know if you have got this feature, open Google Docs app on your phone and tap on the Format option (the A-icon seen next to undo and redo functions at the top of the Doc) and then go to ‘Paragraph’. In that window, scroll down to check whether there is an ‘Add page break before’ toggle. The toggle should appear just below ‘Line spacing’. If it s not there, have some patience as Google has said that it could take up to 7 days for the Android users and up to 15 days for iOS users to get it. If it helps, the rollout began on January 20. The update will be available for all Google Workspace, G Suite Basic and G Suite Business customers.
