Panasonic Toughbook S1 rugged tablet launched in India: Price, specs and features
Panasonic has launched its rugged tablet Panasonic Toughbook S1 in India. The tablet was launched in the US in May this year at $2499. In India, the price of the tablet starts at Rs 98,000. The tablet has been designed for people who work in the field of transportation, logistics and other such sectors. The device runs Android 10 with Android Enterprise.
Panasonic Toughbook S1: Design and display
Panasonic Toughbook S1 features a 7-inch WXGA IPS LCD display with 800 x 1200 pixel resolution. The touchscreen display can be used with a passive pen and with gloves as well. It features a rugged design and it measures 194mm x 131mm x 22.9mm without additional accessories. It sports an integrated barcode reader. Users also get the option to equip two batteries on the device – The standard 3,200mAh along with an extended 5,580mAh battery. The tablet weighs 434 grams with the standard battery and 514 grams with the extended battery. The company claims that with both the batteries the device can provide up to 14 hours of usage.
The tablet is water and dust resistant and the company claims that it can be operated in temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius.
Panasonic Toughbook S1: Processor and camera
Under the hood, the Panasonic Toughbook S1 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. When it comes to camera, the tablet gets a 13-megapixel camera at the rear. For selfies and video calls, the device has a 5-megapixel camera at the front.
In terms of connectivity, the Toughbook S1 tablet comes with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.1, NFC, USB Type-C port microSD/ SDXC card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack and others. As mentioned earlier, the device run on Android 10 with Android Enterprise.
