Paytm Charging Convenience Fees On Mobile Recharges | Digit

According to several reports on Twitter, Paytm has begun charging convenience fees on mobile recharges done via the Paytm app. According to a report by 91mobiles, users can be charged a processing fee ranging from Rs 1 to Rs 6, depending on the amount of the recharge. However, not all users are being charged this convenience fee at the moment. Nevertheless, users are not pleased and many took to Twitter to complain about the issue. Paytm began charging convenience fees without any official statement pertaining to the change.

In a statement in 2019, Paytm has said, “Paytm neither charges nor will charge any convenience or transaction fee from customers on using any payment method which includes Cards, UPI and Wallet.” This move is a massive shift from what the company had stated back in 2019, causing users to be understandably upset.
