Paytm First Games welcomes inclusion of fantasy sports, rummy apps on Google Play Store – Times of India

The online gaming platform Paytm First Games (PFG) has welcomed Google Play’s move to allow the distribution of developed fantasy sports (DFS) and rummy apps on the Play Store in India as a part of a pilot programme scheduled to run between September 28, 2022 and September 28, 2023.
Google, which earlier removed fantasy gaming apps and rummy games from the Playstore, will now allow select apps to operate on its platform under a pilot project for a year. Google Play announced that it is running a short-term pilot program to allow Indian developers to distribute daily fantasy sports and rummy apps to users in a way that ensures a secure user experience.

This inclusion of fantasy sports and rummy apps is said to be further driven by the increasing adoption of online platforms for playing card games such as rummy and poker and the popularity of fantasy sports, owing to the love for cricket among users across the country.
Paytm First Games promises to comprise a host of skill-based games, including developed fantasy sports and rummy, which can be enjoyed by citizens across the country. PFG further claims to focus on taking the online gaming experience to a whole new level with engrossing graphics, smooth gameplay, and dedicated customer support.
As part of its Play Store gambling policies, Google earlier barred online casinos or supported any unregulated gambling apps that facilitate sports betting, including daily fantasy sports in India, and it removed several apps that it observed were in violation of the guidelines.
