The domestic digital payment platform Paytm allows users to book tickets as well as check their PNR and live train statuses via the app. It is important to have your train name, number, and PNR number handy to check live train and PNR status. Here’s how it’s done:
Tracking live train status
You can check the live running status of any IRCTC train using the Paytm app. The platform number where the train would arrive at the destination as well as all the information regarding a train, including the real-time delay, estimated arrival at the next station, and estimated arrival at the destination, will be shown on your screen.
- Open the Paytm app on your smartphone.
- Scroll down and go to the Trains tickets section.
- Tap on the Trains Status button.
- Enter the name or number of the train.
- Select the boarding station.
- Hit the Check live status button.
- You can check the platform number and estimated train arrival time.
Tracking train PNR status
The Indian Railways PNR, also called a “Passenger Name Record,” is a number that contains a passenger’s personal data. In addition to the basic information about train arrival and departure times, it also provides details about the coach and seat number, class of travel, chart status, train name, train number, booking status, current status, travel time, and fare.
- Open the Paytm app on your mobile device.
- Under the ticket booking section, tap on the Trains tickets option.
- Then, go to the Check PNR tab.
- Enter the 10-digit PNR number.
- Hit the Check Now button.
- All the details related to your train will be displayed on your mobile screen.
Alternatively, travellers can also check their live train and PNR status by visiting the official website of Paytm ( https://paytm.com/train-tickets/pnr-status) anytime. They just need to enter the train number or name and PNR number in the space provided to track their live train status and PNR status, respectively.
