pikmin: Pokemon Go developers release new game Pikmin Bloom for Android and iOS – Times of India
The latest location-based augmented reality (AR) smartphone game is being rolled out for users in the US, Australia and Singapore. Pokemon Go developer Niantic collaborated with Nintendo to develop this free game which is expected to launch globally in the upcoming days. Pikmin Bloom will also ask you to wander outside and re-discover their surroundings on daily walks to collect Pikmin just like Pokemon Go. The game is about collecting saplings and building an army of Pikmin.
Pikmin Bloom was launched by Niantic and Nintendo in the US through a blog post. This game will eventually be rolled out globally, starting with Australia and Singapore. This free game is about collecting various small plant-like creatures, also known as Pikmin. Pikmin grows from seeds and the ones you grow and pick will follow you around. You can collect Pikmin squads by walking around outdoors. You can also feed the Pikmins with nectar that will make their flowers bloom. You can even use the petals to plant new flowers on your way.
You can also count the number of steps you have taken at the end of the day and you can also keep track of the route you covered in the game. Moreover, you can also add photos and notes to your lifelog. This game might bring back postcards of places that you have visited, which can also be sent to your friends via the app. Pikmin Bloom will also host monthly community events for players to stroll, play and plant together with other players in the game, similar to Pokemon Go.
You can download this game through Google Play Store for Android and App Store for iOS devices. Android users need the Google Fit app to enable permissions for the game to track steps. Apple users also need to enable Apple HealthKit permissions for the game to count the steps.
Pokemon Go was launched in India in 2016 and the game insisted players go outdoors and search for virtual Pokemons in their localities nearby. In 2020, Sensor Tower data estimated that Pokemon Go earned a lifetime revenue of $3.6 billion (nearly Rs 26,940 crores) since its launch in 2016.
