Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer is officially here. Disney released the trailer at the Comic-Con Experience 2022 in São Paulo, Brazil. The third feature-length installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise sees the return of Peter Quill and his band of misfits for one last wild ride together across the galaxy. The trailer comes just a few days after the release of the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special on Disney+. James Gunn, who directed the first two movies, took to the stage at CCXP to share his third and final entry in his MCU trilogy.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer shows us some familiar faces, including Peter Quill, Nebula, Mantis, Drax, and Groot stepping down from their spaceship in new, more comic-book-accurate costumes. The trailer goes on to show a younger version of Rocket, suggesting the movie will dive into his past and how he was experimented on. Some of the scenes suggest this will be a far more serious movie than the previous two installments, with a rather ominous line from Rocket who says, “we will all fly together, one last time.”

Gamora is back in this movie, though she might not be the Gamora that Peter Quill remembers. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 villains include Adam Warlock and High Evolutionary.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 release date

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will release worldwide on May 5th, 2023. It will be part of Phase Five of the MCU, which kick starts with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which is set to release on February 17th, 2023. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set right after the events of The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in India. The upcoming third and final installment in the franchise will be released on Disney+ Hotstar after its theatrical run.
