Poco: Poco C55 India launch confirmed: What to expect

Chinese smartphone maker Poco recently unveiled the X5 series smartphone. The company is now set to expand its product portfolio with another budget phone. Poco took to Twitter to confirm the upcoming addition to its affordable C-series smartphones in India. Poco C55 is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi 12C which was launched earlier in China. However, the company didn’t specify the exact launch date of the Poco C55 but said that the smartphone will be ‘coming soon’ in India.
The tweet shared by Poco also doesn’t reveal the specifications or the design of the smartphone. Poco C55 is expected to succeed the Poco C50 smartphone that was launched in January 2023. Rumours also suggest that the company may add another smartphone to the Poco X5 series, the Poco X5 GT.

Poco C55: Expected price, design and specs
According to a report by GizmoChina, the upcoming Poco C55 smartphone is expected to be priced at around Rs 10,000. The report also claims that a tipster has shared a leaked image of the smartphone.
As per the leaked image, Poco C55 is expected to have a leathery finish on the back with the brand’s signature camera module. The leaked image shows the smartphone in the forest green colour option and reveals that it will house a dual rear camera setup and fingerprint sensor on the back.

Poco C55 is expected to sport a 6.71-inch LCD screen that may support an HD+ (1650 × 720 pixels) resolution. The smartphone is likely to come powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset backed with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage.
The smartphone is also rumoured to pack a 5,000mAh battery unit that will support 10W charging. Poco C55’s dual rear camera setup may include a 50MP main camera. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone may also house a 5MP front shooter.
