poco: Poco X4 GT receives BIS certification, India launch imminent – Times of India
Poco recently launched the Poco M4 5G smartphone in India that went on sale about a month ago on Flipkart. The Chinese smartphone maker is now set to further expand its smartphone lineup in the country. According to a report by Mashable, the Poco X4 GT has arrived on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) listings — a mandatory certification that smartphones require before launching in India. The report suggests that the BIS listings hint at an imminent India launch for the Poco handset.
The report mentions that the Poco X4 GT was spotted on the BIS listings with the model number 220412161. However, the company is yet to confirm these details and the BIS website also has no other information about the upcoming device. Apart from missing out on key details, the model number on the certification website suggests that this is an India-specific version of the Poco X4 GT. The report also suggests that the Poco X4 GT might be rebranded as Xiaomi 12X or Xiaomi 12i, whereas earlier reports claim that the upcoming smartphone will be a rebranded version of Redmi Note 11T Pro.
Poco X4 GT expected specifications
The Poco X4 GT is expected to feature a 6.6-inch LCD screen with an FHD resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The upcoming smartphone is rumoured to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset backed with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
This device may house a triple rear camera setup that includes a — 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and another 2MP sensor. For selfies and video calls, the upcoming handset is likely to feature a 20MP front snapper.
Poco X4 GT is speculated to pack a 5000mAh battery unit with 67W fast charging support. The smartphone is expected to run MIUI 13 based on Android 12 OS out-of-the-box.
