Poco X3 Pro set to get MIUI 12.5 update in July, confirms company – Times of India

Last month, Poco had announced a list of smartphones that were set to get MIUI 12.5 update.
Now, it seems the company is working on keeping up with the commitment as Angus Kai Ho Ng, head of product market and global spokesperson of Poco has posted on Twitter that the Poco X3 Pro will start getting MIUI 12.5 update starting July 2021.
“A small update that I just heard 🙂 MIUI 12.5 will be released for #POCOX3Pro very soon, beginning of July. #ExactlyWhatYouNeedAndMore” said the tweet.

Poco X3 Pro was launched in India in March earlier this year at a starting price of Rs 18,999. It comes powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 SoC, houses 6.67-inch FHD+ display and is backed by a 5160mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.
Back in May, Poco had announced nine devices that are eligible for the MIUI 12.5 update and seven of them are available in India. These are Poco X3 Pro, Poco X3, Poco X2, Poco M3, Poco M2 Pro, Poco M2 and Poco C3.
To recall, while unveiling the MIUI 12.5 custom operating system update, Xiaomi had claimed that MIUI 12.5 is lighter, faster and more economical as compared to the MIUI 12. The company had claimed that it has rewritten the system UI, which is designed to reduce the memory usage by up to 20%. Xiaomi had also stated that the new layer of UI will decrease the power consumption by 25%.
Earlier this month, a report by NoteBook Check alleged that Xiaomi is set to do a major overhaul to its custom MIUI operating system.
As per the report, Xiaomi had posted an online survey with an intent to find out not only what features users want to see in MIUI but also what are the bugs that have been affecting their Xiaomi smartphone experience.
“We are designing the brand new MIUI system,” states the survey, according to the report. It is apparently aimed at Global ROM smartphone users and the feedback form notes that this covers MI, Europe, Russia, Indonesia, India, Turkey, and Taiwan.
