Poco X5 Pro 5G: First impressions and what we think – Times of India
Poco X5 Pro 5G: Pricing
Considering the hardware and other specifications inside the phone the pricing seems to be on point. The phone is likely to compete with the likes of Realme 10 Pro Plus 5G which was launched in December 2022.
Poco X5 Pro 5G: Design
The smartphone has a lightweight design and rounded edges. It has a plastic back, plastic frame and the middle panel is polycarbonate. The primary black colour covers almost the entirety of the rear panel, except the camera module. The rectangular camera bump has three sensors and an LED flash. Poco X5 Pro 5G offers a premium look and is more than 20 grams lighter than its predecessor, the X4 Pro.
Poco X5 Pro 5G: Display
Poco X5 Pro sports a 6.67-inch OLED display that supports Full HD+ resolution. It looks and functions seamlessly and produces vibrant colour tones. The 10-bit panel houses a punch-hole camera and supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The screen supports Dolby Vision, and HDR 10+ and seemed well-responsive.
Poco X5 Pro 5G: Camera
The phone houses a 108MP primary sensor that clicks sharp images. The other two cameras — the 8MP ultra-wide angle lens and 2MP macro unit also work fine. The 16MP front camera also clicks beautiful selfies. Poco X5 Pro 5G’s main camera setup supports 4K recording along with multiple photo and video modes. However, we will wait to give our definite thoughts till our detailed review comes out.
Poco X5 Pro 5G: Performance
The 6nm-based Snapdragon 778G chipset along with the Adreno 642L graphics unit is handling both daily tasks and graphics-intensive games with ease. Poco X5 Pro 5G boots the Android 12-based MIUI 14 which ships with some unnecessary bloatware. However, the UI seemed seamless and lag-free. Poco has promised two years of Android OS updates and 3-years of security updates.
Poco X5 Pro 5G: Battery
Poco has included the 67W adapter in the box which is a big advantage for budget-sensitive customers. The X5 Pro’s battery also seemed reliable as it went on for a full day even after extensive usage.
Poco X5 Pro 5G: What we think
The smartphone is powered by a chipset which was released almost two years ago, yet the SoC seemed to be handling the daily tasks quite smoothly. The camera also seemed fine and is capable enough for content creation. Graphics-heavy games also offered a seamless and lag-free experience. In the initial days of using the phone, we are satisfied for the time being. We will share our final verdict about Poco X5 Pro 5G’s in the detailed review which will be out soon.
