Poco X5 Pro 5G with Snapdragon 778G SoC, Xfinity display launched: Price, specifications and more – Times of India

Poco X5 Pro 5G has finally made its debut in India. After days of teasing it in the country, Xiaomi sub-brand Poco launched the “true successor of Poco X4 Pro 5G”. It is powered by a Snapdragon 778G SoC under the hood, a 6.67-inch Xfinity AMOLED display with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support, and a 108MP primary camera.

Poco X5 Pro 5G price in India starts at Rs 22,999 for the base 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, and Rs 24,999 for the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. The smartphone can be purchased in Poco Yellow, Horizon Blue and Astral Black colour options.
Poco says that the smartphone will be available via Flipkart starting today (February 6). Consumers will get a chance to get their hands on the smartphone at a price of Rs 20,999 and Rs 22,999, respectively during the Special Early Access Sale from 6 PM.

Talking about the pricing, Himanshu Tandon, country head, Poco India, told The Times of India-GadgetsNow that Poco wanted to launch a complete phone with a “key focus on its Poco fans’ requirements.”
“We have a price-to-performance internal matrix, which is nothing but basically offering raw performance at a price point that no other brand is able to match. But also considering the feedback that we get from the consumers, we want to add certain elements to that performance aspect to make it a complete offering,” Tandon said.

Poco X5 Pro 5G specifications
Poco X5 Pro 5G sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ pOLED display with 20:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR 10+, and 900 nits peak brightness. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, which is paired with up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.
While replying to a question on why Poco chose a Snapdragon 778G SoC, Tandon said it is a tried and tested chipset, and offers 5G gaming, elite gaming features, and all-day battery life. It is the lightest, thinnest Poco X series smartphone ever, and this is the first smartphone in India to come with MIUI 14.
Poco X5 Pro 5G comes with 12-layers graphite heat dissipation technology and the smartphone runs Android 12-based MIUI 14. Poco is offering two years of Android OS updates and three years of security updates. It comes with dual stereo speakers.

“We have built the Poco X5 pro series on four pillars. One is a performance, the second one is the Xfinity AMOLED display with Dolby Vision support, the third is a 108MP camera and lastly MIUI 14. It is the most disruptive phone at Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 price range,” Tandon added.
For photography, the Poco X5 Pro 5G gets a triple rear camera setup with 108MP main sensor with f/1.9 aperture and a 6P lens. It is also the first POCO smartphone in India to feature a 108MP primary camera sensor. There is an 8MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture and an ultra-wide angle lens that has 120-degree field-of-view and 2MP macro camera. On the front is a 16MP sensor with f/2.45 aperture.
Poco X5 Pro 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. Poco claims that the phone can be fully charged in 45 minutes. It is also rated IP52 for dust and water resistance. One of the USPs of the Poco X5 Pro 5G is its weight. Its predecessor weighed 205 grams while the latest offering is 181 grams.
