Poco X5 Pro spotted in hands of an Indian cricketer: Expected launch details

Poco is expected to expand its X-series with a new smartphone for the Indian market. The Chinese smartphone maker has already started teasing the Poco X5 Pro in is likely to launch the phone soon in the country. However, ahead of its official launch, Poco X5 Pro has been spotted in the hands of a popular Indian cricketer, Hardik Pandya, who is also the current skipper of the T20 team.
According to a report by GizmoChina, the smartphone model that was spotted with Pandya appears to be the Poco X5 Pro in the yellow variant. The report also shares some images where Pandya can be seen using the phone and also making a call from the X5 Pro. These images offer a clear view of the rear camera module of the upcoming phone.
Poco has already teased the new smartphone on the major e-retailer platform Flipkart. Moreover, the phone is also being teased on AliExpress for the global markets. Apart from this, Poco has also announced a fan meetup for the launch of its new X series smartphones in Delhi.

The report claims that the fan meetup will take place on January 22. This means that the device is likely to be officially unveiled in the coming weeks.

Poco X5 Pro: Expected specs
Previous rumours suggest that the X5 Pro 5G model is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12 Speed Edition which was launched in China in December 2022.
This smartphone is likely to sport an IPS LCD panel that may support a 120Hz refresh rate and may come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G chipset which was launched in November 2022.

The latest chipset is a refreshed version of the Snapdragon 778G+ and is also based on a 6nm node. Snapdragon 782G also claims to offer faster performances of both CPU and GPU over the older chipset.
For optics, the smartphone is expected to house a 108MP rear camera setup. Poco X5 Pro is also rumoured to pack a 5000mAh battery unit that may support 67W fast charging.
