Google Pixel 7a launching in 2023?

Tipster Digital Chat Station (via) has now revealed that Google might be working on a compact Google Pixel device. The project is reportedly called Project Neila and could be named the Pixel 7a when launched.

While not much else is known about the device, it can be assumed that the Pixel 7a could get a 6.1-inch display, much like the Pixel 6a. The larger displays will likely be reserved for the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro models.

Given past trends, Google could launch the Pixel 7a at the Google I/O event in 2023.

Google Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro specifications (expected)

Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are expected to get a 90Hz 6.3-inch and a 120Hz 6.7-inch display, respectively. The new Pixel 7 lineup will also sport a second-generation octa-core Tensor SoC and is expected to get a Samsung 5300 Exynos Modem for connectivity.

The Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are likely to continue with the GN1 primary sensor and IMX381 ultra-wide sensor. The Pixel 7 Pro is expected to move over to Samsung’s GM1 telephoto sensor in 2022. Both the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will get a new 11MP Samsung 3J1 sensor for front camera duties.

The Google Pixel 7 series will run Android 13 out of the box.
