At CES 2023, Sony revealed that PS5 consoles will be much easier for PlayStation customers globally to find one for themselves. About 20 days after the announcement, the company has now thanked fans saying that the PS5 console shortage is over.
“Thank you for your patience as we navigated unprecedented demand for the PS5 console amid global challenges. If you’re looking to purchase a PS5 console, you should now have a much easier time finding one at retailers globally,” the company said in a blog post.

It also announced that those in the US, the UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg can check direct.playstation.com to purchase a PS5 console, games and accessories directly from PlayStation. The products and games will be available at participating retailers in other countries.
The standalone PS5 Digital Edition costs Rs 44,990 and the 4K Blu-ray-equipped PS5 is priced at Rs 54,990.

Sony has also announced that 2023 will see a new list of games and accessories and updates to platforms.
“We are humbled by the support for PS5 from our community and are passionate about growing the best lineup of PlayStation games we’ve ever delivered,” the company said. Last week, Square Enix launched a new PS5 exclusive, Forspoken.
Sony also gave a small list of upcoming games, which include Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Final Fantasy XVI, Hogwarts Legacy, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4: Remake and Street Fighter 6, as well as upcoming expansions like Destiny 2: Lightfall and Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores.
“Beyond new games, we’re delighted to continue expanding the PS5 console experience with all-new accessories like the recently-released DualSense Edge wireless controller,” the company said.
PlayStation VR2 launch
On February 22, Sony will launch PlayStation VR2 and it will feature more than 30 games, such as Horizon Call of the Mountain, Gran Turismo 7 and Resident Evil Village.
