Qualcomm Snapdragon Insider phone vs OnePlus 9

Recently, Qualcomm announced its own high-end, expensive smartphone made for the enthusiast market. The Smartphone for Insiders handset is supposed to be the optimal phone made with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoC, with a Snapdragon 888 processor, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of RAM, and lots of other high-end hardware and software features. But how does this costly phone compete in sheer performance with the older OnePlus 9, which also has a Snapdragon 888 processor inside?

Using the Speed Test G benchmark testing software, Android Authority‘s Gary Sims put the new Qualcomm Smartphone for Insiders phone up against the OnePlus 9. The final result? While it was close, the older OnePlus 9 won in the overall score, with a time of 1 minute and 58.4 seconds. The Qualcomm handset was just 0.4 seconds behind.

While the OnePlus 9 pulled away from the Qualcomm device in the CPU test by a full second, the mixed test saw the Qualcomm phone win by 0.4 seconds. The GPU test saw the Qualcomm phone beat the OnePlus 9 by just 0.1 seconds. However, it was not quite enough for the overall win.

It looks like the Asus-made Qualcomm phone is a very fast handset, but the OnePlus 9 is just a tad faster. If you want to get the new Qualcomm Smartphone for Insiders, you can preorder it now for $1,499 from Asus’ official store ahead of its official ship date on August 27. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 9 is available at a much lower price at the link below:
