The Realme 9 Pro series is now official in India and the lineup includes a pair of 5G phones that offer good features at attractive prices. Realme will be selling the standard Realme 9 Pro at a starting price of Rs 17,999, which puts it in competition with phones such as the recently launched Vivo T1. The new Realme 9 Pro and the Vivo T1 are equipped with the same Snapdragon 695 processor, which offers 5G connectivity. Although the Vivo phone is a little bit cheaper, it still offers similar performance and features. Let’s take a look at the differences and similarities between the two phones.

Starting with the price, the Realme 9 Pro price in India starts at Rs 17,999. This gets you the 6GB RAM variant with 128GB storage. For Rs 20,999, you can purchase the 8GB RAM version, which also comes with 128GB of internal storage. You’ll be able to buy the phones via Flipkart or Realme India online store starting February 23rd.

The base variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is available for Rs 15,990, the 6GB RAM version is priced at Rs 16,990, and the 8GB RAM model will cost you Rs 19,990. Realme 9 Pro vs Vivo T1 design, specifications, and features
Design
In the design department, both phones feature colourful rear panels that are made from plastic. The Vivo T1 features flat edges and a slimmer profile, whereas the Realme 9 Pro has rounded sides. On the front, the Realme 9 Pro has a hole-punch camera cutout located on the top left. Meanwhile, the Vivo T1 makes do with a waterdrop style notch for the selfie camera.
Both smartphones have a rectangular rear camera module, which accommodates three sensors and LED flash. The Vivo T1 has a side mounted fingerprint scanner and volume buttons on the right side. The Realme 9 Pro has the power button on the right side and the volume buttons on the left side.
Processor, storage, and RAM
As mentioned in the beginning, both the Vivo T1 and the Realme 9 Pro use the Snapdragon 695 5G processor offering dual 5G SIM support. This is a new 6nm mid-range processor from Qualcomm that delivers good performance for multi-tasking and gaming. Coming to the RAM and storage side of things, the Realme 9 Pro is available with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. There’s also the additional RAM Expansion feature that you can make use of if you’re ever low on RAM.
The Vivo T1 is available in three RAM+storage variants. You can opt for 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB RAM options, but all three variants come with 128GB storage, which is nice. Once again, a RAM Expansion feature is available wherein you can temporarily use the flash storage for adding more RAM.
On both phones, the storage is expandable via a microSD card slot.
Display
The Realme 9 Pro comes with a 6.6-inch LCD display that offers FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch response rate. It gets an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a hole-punch camera cutout on the top left corner for the selfie camera.
Display specifications are quite similar on the Vivo T1 as well. It features a 6.58-inch LCD display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth viewing experience. It also offers a 240Hz touch response rate for faster touch recognition. The phone uses a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera and lacks an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Cameras
Coming to the cameras, the Realme 9 Pro has a triple rear camera setup with a primary 64-megapixel sensor. The rear camera module also includes an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. For selfies, a 16-megapixel sensor is available up front.
The Vivo T1 also gets a triple rear camera setup but has a slightly lower resolution 50-megapixel main sensor. This is coupled with dual 2-megapixel sensors for depth and macro effects. It lacks an ultra-wide camera, which is kind of disappointing as a lot of customers prefer an ultra-wide over a depth or macro sensor. The phone has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
Connectivity
In the connectivity department, both smartphones offer all the options that one may need. You get dual-mode 5G connectivity, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C for charging and data transfer.
Battery
The battery capacity of both the Realme 9 Pro and Vivo T1 are the same at 5,000mAh, but there’s a big difference in the charging speeds. The Realme 9 Pro offers 33W fast charging support, whereas the Vivo T1 only supports up to 18W fast charging.
Realme 9 Pro vs Vivo T1: verdict
Although the Realme 9 Pro costs a few thousand rupees more than the Vivo T1, we believe that it’s worth the extra price. The phone offers faster-charging speed, a better rear camera setup, a more modern design with the hole-punch camera cutout on the front, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Apart from that, the rest of the features and specifications remain pretty much the same, including the Snapdragon 695 chipset. If it were us, we’d spend a little more and get the Realme 9 Pro, but if you want to save some money and don’t really care about better cameras or an in-display fingerprint scanner, then the Vivo T1 is also a good choice.
