Realme 9 series launch officially confirmed; big announcement expected on September 9th

Realme 9 series launch seems to be around the corner now as the company has officially confirmed its existence. There have been a few leaks on the upcoming Realme 9, including our exclusive report that the series will launch in October. Now, Realme India and Europe CMO Francis Wong has revealed that the Realme 9 series exists. Additionally, the executive said that more information about the Realme 9 launch will be revealed on September 9th. For those unaware, Realme is holding a launch event in India on September 9th where the company will announce the Realme 8s, Realme 8i, and Realme Pad products.

Realme 9 launch in India seems imminent

Realme’s Francis Wong tweeted that the brand typically launches two generations of the Number and Pro every year. One arrives in H1 while the other in H2. Since the Realme 8 series was launched in H1 2021, the Realme 9 series will logically come in H2 2021. While the Realme executive did not reveal anything more in his tweet, he did say that more information will be revealed during the Realme 8s and Realme 8i launch event on September 9th.

Realme 9 specifications and price in India are a mystery for now, but we hope to learn more about the device soon. Meanwhile, here’s what we know about the Realme 8s and Realme 8i.

Based on what we know so far, the Realme 8s will feature a 6.5-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is confirmed to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC and will come with 5G support. The Realme 8s may launch with up to 8GB RAM, 5GB of Dynamic RAM Expansion, and up to 256GB internal storage. The Realme 8s will feature a 64MP triple camera system. Other rumoured specs include a 16MP front camera, a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Realme 8i design and specifications have also been leaked. The phone may feature a 6.59-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be the first phone powered by the MediaTek Helio G96 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The Realme 8i may come equipped with a 50MP triple rear camera system and a 16MP front camera. The phone will reportedly house a 5,000mAh battery.
