Realme emerges second-biggest brand in October sales, within striking distance of Xiaomi: Counterpoint
During this year’s festive season, the company sold 9.3 million units of smartphones, AIOT and Techlife products across all online and offline channels.
In India, the smartphone industry witnessed a steady shipment trend last month. Xiaomi grabbed the crown with a market share of 20 percent (including POCO’s 2.7 percent market share). Meanwhile, Samsung slipped to the third spot with a 16 percent market share, and Vivo secured fourth place with a market share of 13 percent.
Madhav Seth, CEO, Realme India, said, “This rapid growth is a testament to the brand and evidence of our consumers’ love for us. We have always focused on bringing the best of technology to our consumers with cutting edge technology and trendsetting designs, and we have been delivering on it successfully. 2021 has been a year of milestones for realme and this win is another feather in our hat.”
Throwing a challenge to Xiaomi, Seth said, “Our aim for 2022 is to be the No. 1 smartphone brand in India, and this milestone is just another stepping-stone to realise that vision.”
In 2021, Realme achieved the milestone of shipping a total of 100 million units across the globe since its debut and reaching 50 million shipments in India in Q2 2021. The recently announced Realme GT series recorded sales of 300,000 units, as per the company.
