Realme GT 3: what we know so far

Design

The Realme GT 3, despite being a mid-range flagship product, boasts a unique design language. If the leaked images are any indication, the Realme GT 3 gets a stylish rear panel design and is expected to get a frosted back panel and graphics. However, the main attraction is the RGB LED lighting strip that borders the processor underneath the contrasting black glass panel. The LED strip can glow in 25 different colours. Beside, it rests the camera housing to host the optics for the Realme GT 3 and gets chamfered edges.

Display

The front-end features a tall 6.74-inch OLED display which is rated for 144Hz high refresh rate and up to 1,500Hz touch sampling rate. This panel is also capable of 2160Hz PWM dimming, 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 1.07 billion colours. The panel houses a 2772 x 1240 pixel resolution. Up top, there is centre aligned hole punch cutout that hosts the front-facing camera.

Charging

Charging speeds are an area that Realme has worked on heavily and the Realme GT 3 takes the game forward with the introduction of 240W fast charging. The 240W fast charging was first seen in China on the Realme GT Neo 5 smartphone, which launched earlier this month. The Realme GT 3, expected to be a rebrand of the GT Neo 5, can charge its 4,600mAh battery from 1 percent to 100 percent in 9 minutes and 37 seconds via this 240W fast charging system. Realme is also expected to sell a slower 150W fast charging variant, ironically. This Realme GT 3 will get a 5,00mAh battery pack.

Other specifications

The Realme GT 3 is also expected to get a strong suite of optics to match up to the rest of the hardware. The device is expected to get a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor that supports OIS as its primary shooter. This main camera will be accompanied by an 8MP ultra wide angle lens (Sony IMX355), and a 2MP macro sensor in the triple camera system and will be assisted by an LED flash. The front camera duties will be handled by a 16MP shooter.

Under the hood, there will be a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC from Qualcomm which will be paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. A variant with 1TB of internal storage is also expected. The device is also expected to feature high-end connectivity features like 5G and NFC as standard.
