Realme GT smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC launched in Europe – Times of India
BBK-owned smartphone brand Realme has launched its most powerful smartphone yet — called Realme GT 5G.The device is touted to be Realme’s inaugural product under the GT series and the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 888-powered handset.
At the time of the launch, Realme said that ‘GT’ in the name is based on the core concept of grand tourers (GT) sports cars, which resonates in the design as the it has a 3D light-reflecting pattern on the back as well as a vegan-leather covered version with a repeated acceleration symbol along the length of the smartphone.
Realme GT price and availability
Realme GT has been launched in selective countries, including Poland, Spain, Russia, and Thailand. The company is expected to launch the handset in more markets soon.
The base variant of the Realme GT that packs 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage has been launched at 369 euros on AliExpress. Realme has priced the smartphone at 599 euros (approximately Rs 53,000) for the 12GB and 256GB variants. The latter variant is available at Realme’s official online platform as well as other authorised distribution channels.
The company will be offering the 12GB+256GB variant of the Realme GT at 499 euros as an early-bird offer to all consumers during Amazon Prime Day from June 21.
Realme GT specs and features
Launched in three colour options — Dashing Silver, Dashing Blue and Racing Yellow — the Realme GT features a 6.43-inch Samsung Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. It houses dual light sensors on both front and back to provide 4,096 auto-brightness levels.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 flagship processor is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and the fastest UFS 3.1 storage. The Realme GT boasts of a new generation stainless steel VC cooling system, which according to the company is said to optimise the phone’s heat dissipation structure.
Realme claims that using their testing, they found that the stainless steel VC cooling system demonstrated a 50% increased cooling power compared with a traditional copper VC cooling system and was capable of reducing the CPU core temperature by up to 15°C.
As an exclusive feature for the Realme GT smartphone, Realme is offering a GT Mode that is said to create the ultimate performance experience. “This includes full-scene high performance mode coverage and further optimisation of high-frame-rate gaming, all providing a smooth user experience and a more durable and stable high frame rate gaming experience” said Realme in a statement.
For imaging duties, the Realme GT has a triple rear camera setup where the primary sensor is a 64MP Sony sensor. The sensors support new night portrait mode and other AI-enabled functionalities.
In terms of audio, the Realme GT comes with Dolby Atmos Dual Stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio and a 3.5mm audio jack with low latency and low interference charge.
Backed by a 4500mAh battery, the Realme GT comes with 65W SuperDart charging support, which as per the company, should fully charge the handset in 35 minutes. Software wise, the Realme GT will come with support for Android 12 Beta 1.
