Realme MagDart will offer 66W magnetic wireless charging speed, teases Madhav Sheth | 91mobiles.com
Earlier this month, the Realme MagDart moniker was leaked in a EUIPO filing — it is expected to be a magnetic wireless charging solution from the brand, similar to the Apple MagSafe. So far, two Realme MagDart chargers have appeared in rendered images and through official-looking posters. The company has also hinted that it will be launching the first Android smartphone to support magnetic wireless charging (and Realme MagDart chargers) at its Magnetic Innovation Event scheduled for 5:30pm IST on August 3rd. Well, the brand today hinted at the charging speed and the design of the Realme MagDart chargers while also taking a dig at Apple and its MagSafe technology.

A new tweet from Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth has a teaser poster that reveals the Realme MagDart will be 440 percent faster. The brand, however, didn’t mention one crucial thing — faster than what. Considering that Apple’s MagSafe will be the only real competitor to the Realme MagDart, it is safe to assume that Realme is comparing the MagDart with the MagSafe. Now, the Apple MagSafe has a 15W charging speed. So, it means that the Realme MagDart will have 66W charging speed, which will make it the fastest magnetic wireless charging technology in the world.
The tweet is accompanied by another poster, which reveals that the Realme MagDart will be “thinner.” Once again, Realme didn’t mention a reference point, and we are assuming that the brand is comparing it with the Apple MagSafe. However, we think that this MagDart charger is different from the one that will offer a 66W charging speed. The charging speed of this model could be similar to that of the Apple MagSafe. The one with the 66W charging speed will have inbuilt fans and ventilation grills for cooling as we have seen in the renders that were leaked earlier.
Considering that Realme will be the first brand to offer an Android smartphone with magnetic wireless charging support, it will have a unique edge in the market. However, the magnetic wireless charging technology is expected to make the upcoming Realme smartphone costly and we will have to see how many people are willing to spend the extra amount of money for this fancy feature.
