Realme MagDart wireless charger spotted in action alongside a Realme Flash | 91mobiles.com

Over the past few weeks, we’ve heard quite a lot about Realme’s MagSafe clone known as MagDart. It is, for all intents and purposes, a high-speed wireless charger that latches onto the back of the Realme Flash. It does, however, offer significantly faster-charging wattages than conventional solutions, which can go as high as 66W. Now, XDA Developers has managed to get their hands on a Realme MagDart wireless charger and took it for a spin. While the exact charging wattage isn’t quite as high as advertised we can see the Realme MagDart juice up what is likely the Realme Flash smartphone rather quickly. 

We also get a good look at the Realme Flash– the first-ever Realme-branded smartphone that supports wireless charging and, hence, the Realme MagDart. The image (pictured below) also shows us some of the Realme MagDart’s charging specs. It draws 4.4 amperes of current at 4 volts, resulting in a total wattage of 17.6W. However, we need to multiply that figure by two to get the total wattage, as the Realme Flash uses a dual-cell battery, giving us a total wattage of 35.2W. This isn’t nearly as high as the advertised 66W figure, but impressive nonetheless. 

Therefore, the Realme Flash, in conjunction with Realme MagDart, offers faster wireless charging than many mid-range smartphones do over wired charging. It is no small feat, given the complexity associated with wireless charging. Then again, it will continue to be one of the more inefficient ways to charge your smartphone, as a lot of energy will invariably be lost to heat and other factors. Nonetheless, going wire-free is a convenience that many people would pick over energy efficiency.
