After being spotted on the IMEI database, Xiaomi India has officially started teasing the Redmi 10 Prime in a cryptic tweet. The tweet from Xiaomi‘s executives have various prime numbers, suggest the launch of Redmi 10 Prime in India. While the exact date hasn’t been revealed just yet, it should be a matter of days before Xiaomi officially reveals it. We can speculate the launch might happen later this month or early September. This comes just days after the company had unveiled the Redmi 10 in global markets. It remains to be seen whether the brand will rebrand the Redmi 10 as Redmi 10 Prime in the country or it will be a brand new device.

Redmi 10 Prime was recently spotted on the IMEI database with the model number 21061119BI, where the “I” at the end detonates the Indian variant. This is the first time we’re hearing about the Redmi 10 Prime hence its design and specifications remain under dark, for now.

Redmi 10 specifications

Redmi 10 sports a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD display 2,400 X 1,080 pixels resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, Reading Mode 3.0, and Sunlight display. The phone ships with the MediaTek Helio G88 SoC coupled with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB internal expandable storage. It runs on Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 custom skin out of the box. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.

The Redmi 10 has a quad rear camera setup on the back, with a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. It has an 8MP sensor on the front for selfies and video chats and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security A 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support fuels the phone and there’s support for 9W reverse wired charging. The Redmi 10 measures 161.95×75.53×8.92mm and weighs 181 grams.
