Xiaomi is preparing to launch two new smartphones under last year’s Redmi 9 series. According to a recent report from MySmartPrice, Redmi will be launching the Redmi 9 Activ and Redmi 9A Sport. These two smartphones are expected to be rebadged variants of Redmi 9 and Redmi 9A, respectively. To recall, Xiaomi announced the Redmi 9 and Redmi 9A last year in India. The new Redmi smartphones will be bringing new storage variants and a new colour for each smartphone. However, there’s no word on when these smartphones will be announced.

Redmi 9 Activ specifications (expected)

The Redmi 9 Activ is rumoured to be based on the vanilla Redmi 9. We can expect Redmi 9 Activ to come with the MediaTek Helio G35 chipset. The smartphone will be available in two storage configurations- one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, and the second one with 6GB RAM and 128GB. Further, the report suggests that the Redmi 9 Activ will come in a new Metallic Purple colour.

As far as other specifications are concerned, the Redmi 9 Activ might feature a 6.53-inch HD+ display. It may come with a 13MP dual rear camera setup and a 5,000mAh battery. As of now, there’s no clue on whether Redmi 9 Activ would have some differentiating design feature setting it apart from the older Redmi 9 smartphones.

Redmi 9A Sport specifications (expected)

The Redmi 9A Sport is rumoured to come in a new Metallic Blue. The smartphone will come in 2GB + 32GB, and 3GB + 32GB storage variants. It might come with the same 6.53-inch HD+ display, Helio G25 chipset, 13MP rear camera, and 5,000mAh battery. The smartphone is expected to be Xiaomi’s most affordable offering in the market, for now, competing in the sub-10K category.
