Redmi K50 series launch confirmed by company GM Lu Weibing, could arrive in February

While we still don’t have an official launch date for the Redmi K50 series, we do have confirmation that the phones are indeed launching sometime this month. Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing took to Weibo to announce that the Redmi K50 launch is happening in February. The launch will most likely take place around the Chinese New Year, which means that you can expect the phones to arrive before February 25th. We expect the phones to be available for purchase in China first, followed by other regions. 

The Redmi K50 series has been part of several leaks and reports in the past few weeks. A recent leak coming from the Redmi GM stated that the K50 Pro variants will be available with both Snapdragon and MediaTek flagship processors. However, the variant with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 will be launched later this year. The K50 lineup is said to consist of the following models – Redmi K50K50 ProK50 Pro+, and K50 Gaming Edition. 

The base variant of the smartphone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 870 processor. All the phones will offer high-refresh AMOLED displays, up to 120W fast charging, and high-resolution camera systems.

Redmi K50 price

A leak from tipster @Shadow_leak has revealed the pricing for the phones in China. According to the leak, the K50 standard variant will be priced CNY 1,999, and will feature the Snapdragon 870 chipset with 67W fast charging support. The K50 Pro will start at CNY 2,699, use the unreleased MediaTek Dimensity 8000 processor and offer 66W fast charging support. The K50 Pro+ will be priced at CNY 3,299 and come with the Dimensity 9000 SoC along with 120W fast charging support. Finally, the K50 Gaming Edition will cost CNY 3,499 and carry the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and offer support for 120W fast charging.
