Redmi K50 series with MediaTek Dimensity chipsets launching on March 17th; design revealed too | 91mobiles.com

The launch will see the global reveal of the phones, which means that they could arrive in India in a couple of months.

Redmi K50 and K50 Pro specifications

The vanilla Redmi K50 is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset, whereas the Pro series phones will use MediaTek SoCs. Redmi K50 Pro will use the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC, as confirmed by Redmi, while the Pro+ model will get the flagship Dimensity 9000 chipset. In fact, official teasers for the Pro+ notched up a crazy-high 1,041,818 score on the popular AnTuTu benchmarking app — on the official AnTuTu rankings, no phone has ever crossed the 1-million mark, with iQOO 9 Pro coming the closes at 997,944.

As for other features, the Pro phones are expected to feature a triple rear camera setup with a primary 108-megapixel sensor. It’ll also offer up to 120W fast charging support, and 12GB RAM. The display will most likely be an FHD+ AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate. Renders of the K50 Pro were leaked recently showcasing a flat display, hole-punch cutout, and triple rear cameras.

Coming to the design teaser, Redmi K50 series can be seen with what is being called the new nano-microcrystalline rear casing with sparkling ice crystal elements. The design seems to be refracting the light that the back panel receives for a unique look. We can also see the triple rear camera setup housed in a circular module on the back panel.

We should find out more about the upcoming Redmi K50 series smartphones in the coming days as the launch date draws closer.
