Redmi K50 series spotted on Geekbench 5 database
The Redmi K50 series will consist of four models and hence is likely to come in more than one hardware configuration. While higher-end models are expected to get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, the recent Geekbench 5 database spotting by MySmartPrice also highlighted that the device running model number 22021211RC is likely to get an 800-series processor, specifically the Snapdragon 870 SoC.
The Xiaomi device with 22021211RC model number posted a score of 963 points on single-core and 3123 points on multi-core tests. The motherboard section shows a codename munch and the hardware configuration for the processor shows that the device will get a 1 + 3 + 4 core cluster set up with the base frequency set at 1.8GHz. The processor is paired with 12GB of RAM. The device is also shown to be running on Android 12.
The Snapdragon 870 SoC from Qualcomm was also used in the Redmi K40 which was launched in India as the Mi 11X, and as POCO F3 in other markets.
Redmi K50 expected specifications
The Redmi K50 series will consist of four models – Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro+ and Redmi Gaming Edition. The vanilla Redmi K50 model was previously expected to come with the MediaTek Dimensity 7000, Dimensity 9000, or the Dimensity 8000 SoC. The Geekbench listing, however, suggests Snapdragon 870 SoC will be the star. The higher-end model is likely to benefit from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform. The display specifications for the device will stand at 120Hz or even 144Hz high refresh rates and will get AMOLED panels. The Redmi K50 is also expected to get a 64MP Sony main camera sensor, a 4,700mAh battery, and 120W fast charging support.
