Redmi K50 Ultra aka Redmi K50 Extreme Edition launch date confirmed, key specs tipped

Redmi K50 Ultra specifications (tipped)

According to leaked specifications, the Redmi K50 Ultra (or Extreme Edition) is tipped to feature a 6.7-inch display with a resolution close to Quad HD. According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the smartphone should get an OLED panel for its display, bearing 120Hz refresh rate — which is standard among most smartphones today.

Other key features of the smartphone that are expected to be unveiled tomorrow include a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC from Qualcomm, along with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. To the rear, the smartphone was initially tipped to feature a 200MP main camera unit. However, most recent information about the smartphone have suggested that it will feature a 108MP primary rear camera, as part of a triple rear camera module. The latter is expected to house an 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro unit as well.

To the front, the Redmi K50 Ultra could also feature a 20MP selfie snapper.

Other key specifications include a 5,000mAh battery, with 120W fast charging support as well. Android 12, with a planned upgrade to MIUI 14 and Android 13, should also be available for the smartphone.

A crisis of 4G chipset supplies has been pushing phone makers to bank more on 5G smartphones, thereby pushing up the average selling price of devices in a price sensitive market such as India. Companies such as Xiaomi have also conducted a number of launches in the mid-premium segment, including the likes of the Redmi K50 and the POCO F4 5G.

However, Xiaomi is yet to announce if the Redmi K50 Ultra will make it to the Indian market. A word on the same could be announced after the launch event on August 11th.
