Xiaomi’s spin-off brand, Redmi, has launched the new Redmi Note 12 5G series in India. The lineup consists of two Pro models – Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G,, in addition to the vanilla Redmi Note 12 5G.
The two Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G models come with a 120Hz AMOLED display, Dimensity 1080 chipset, and up to 200MP camera.

Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G comes in 8GB+256GB and 12GB+25GB storage options priced at Rs 29,999 and Rs 32,999, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G comes in 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB, and 12GB+256GB, priced at Rs 24,999, Rs 26,999, and Rs 27,999.
Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G and Note 12 Pro 5G will go on sale starting January 11 through Flipkart, Mi Store, and Mi Homes across India.

Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G feature a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 1080×2400 pixels resolution and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate with 240Hz touch sampling rate. The OLED panel offers a 5000000:1 contrast ratio, 1920Hz PWM dimming, and 16,000-level dimming. Further, the panel has a 10-bit colour depth and a peak brightness of 900 nits. There is support for HDR10+, HDR 10, and Dolby Vision.
The two Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G models have a glass sandwich design with Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front. Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The two smartphones have an x-axis linear vibration motor and dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Fi audio support.
Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G and Note 12 Pro 5G are powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 1080 processor that supports 5G connectivity to both smartphones. The chipset comes with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G comes with a 3,000mm² heat dissipation layer. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G has a 12-layer graphene cooling system.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro series smartphones run Android 12 with MIUI 13 out-of-the-box. The company has promised two Android software updates with four years of security updates for the two smartphones.
The two smartphones differ a little when it comes to the battery capacity – the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G boasts a 4980mAH battery with a 120W charger, whereas the Note 12 Pro 5G has a 5000mAh battery with a 67W charger.
The main difference between the two Pro models is in the camera department.
Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G comes with a 200MP Samsung HPX sensor, while the Note 12 Pro 5G has a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. Both models offer OIS with the primary camera. These two also support 4K video recording.
The auxiliary cameras on both smartphones are an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, the two smartphones offer a 16MP camera.
The Note 12 Pro+ 5G comes in Arctic White, Iceberg Blue, and Obsidian Black colours. The Note 12 Pro 5G also has three colour options – Onyx Black, Glacier Blue, and Stardust Purple.
