Redmi Pad with 2K display, MediaTek Helio G99 SoC launched in India: Price, specifications and more

Redmi Pad has been launched as the first tablet by Xiaomi sub-brand in India. The company says that the Redmi Pad is aimed and designed for first-time users. It sports a 10.61-inch display with 2K resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The display is complemented by quad stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. The Redmi Tab comptes with the likes of Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 (Wi-Fi), Realme Pad (Wi-Fi) and Realme Tab Mini (LTE).
Redmi Pad price in India, availability
Redmi Pad price in India is set at Rs 12,499 for the base 3GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, Rs 14,499 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage version, and Rs. 19,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.
Redmi Pad will be available on mi.com, Mi Homes, Flipkart, and other retail partners starting 12 pm on October 5 in Graphite Grey, Mint Green and Moonlight Silver. The Xiaomi sub-brand also announced that the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage Mint Green option will be available only on mi.com starting 10 am on October 5.

Redmi Pad sports a 10.61-inch 2K display with 90Hz refresh rate. It also gets low light certification by TÜV Rheinland, and in-built SGS eye protection. The tablet also comes with Widevine L1 certification which means that the content will be streamed in the highest resolution across OTT platforms. Under the hood, the tablet gets a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset which is paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The storage can be expanded via a microSD card (up to 1TB).

The Redmi Pad comes with an 8MP ultra-wide angle front camera with 105-degree field-of-view. It gets a FocusFrame technology that is claimed to automatically track the subjects and keep them in the centre. Redmi Pad gets dual-microphones with one mic dedicated for noise reduction and there is also an in-built document scanner.
When it comes to software experience, the Redmi Pad runs MIUI 13 which is based on Android 12. Redmi is offering three years of security updates and two milestone MIUI updates over a span of three years. Standout features of the software include Split Screen, Floating Windows and Multi-Window. There is also a Reading Mode that reduces eye fatigue.
Redmi Pad packs an 8,000mAh battery and comes with support for 18W fast charging. There is a 22.5W charger in the box. Connectivity options on the Redmi Pad include dual-band WiFi 5, Bluetooth v5.3, and Type-C port. It packs a quad speaker setup with Dolby Atmos.
